Dundas County Players are holding open auditions for the production of On GOLDEN POND by Ernest Thompson, Directed by Tony Glen, a heartwarming comedy-drama made famous by the now classic 1981 film.
Auditions will take place on
NOVEMBER 9 at 10am, 2019 (or by appointment),
at the Old Town Hall, 478 Main St, Winchester (upstairs).
Performances will take place APRIL 17-26, 2020.
Roles (note: these are character ages, not necessarily the ages of the actors):
One Male – 80 yrs old
One Female – 70 yrs old
One Female – 42 yrs old
Two Males – 44-45 yrs old
One Male – 13 yrs old.
Also sought are non-stage roles (stage managers, costumes, set builders, etc,).

Dundas County Players’ are holding auditions for their fall production of “The Children’s Hour”, by Lillian Hellman. It will be directed by Terry Green. Rehearsals will begin in Sept. with the show opening in mid-Nov.
“The Children’s Hour” is a serious adult play about two woman during the depression in 1934, who start up and successfully run a private school for girls. After a malicious student starts a rumour about the two women, the rumour soon turns to scandal.
As the girl comes to understand the power she wields, she sticks to her story, which precipitates tragedy for the women. By the time the lie is discovered, it is too late and irreparable damage has been done.
The cast consists of 13 F and 2M as follows (age ranges are approximate):
8 F (12 – 16 yrs)
2 F (25 – 35 yrs)
1 F (45 – 60 yrs)
1 F (55 -70 yrs)
1 F (35 – 50)
1 M (25 – 35 yrs)
1 M (15 -20 yrs)
Auditions will be held
Tuesday June 10th at 7:00pm at the Winchester Old Town Hall, upstairs from the Theatre and
Wednesday June 11th at 7:00pm auditions will be held downstairs, in the theatre. (No appointment time is necessary)
The Dundas County Players’ spring production will be the musical “Pump Boys and Dinettes” directed by Terry Green. It is a ‘country/rock’ musical about four guys who work in a gas station and two sisters who run the diner across the highway from it. The production will run the weekends of April 26 – 28 and May 3 – 5, 2013.
2 female singer/actors (age range could be mid-20’s to mid 40’s)
3 male singer/musician/actors: (age range as above) specifically:
1 singer/lead guitar player
1 singer/rhythm guitar player
1 singer/keyboard player
as well as: 1 bass guitar player (not age specific)
The production could also include a drummer.
Auditions will take place in the rehearsal hall upstairs at the Olde Town Hall, Winchester on Wed. Jan 9th and Thursday Jan 10th from 7pm to 10pm, with call-backs the following week. Auditioners should prepare an up-tempo song, and, if possible, a ballad. Guitarists should bring their instruments. A keyboard will be provided.
